The darndest things

At preschool on Tuesday, we learned about MLK day a little bit. We read a book and then we were talking about how a long time ago people were mean to people who looked different and had darker skin than they did. Mason pipes in, "Like Barack Obama?" (Don't ask me how Mason knows who Barack Obama is, but he does and he loves him.) Then another little boy says, "My Mom wanted Obama to win, but my Dad didn't." Then someone else said, "My Mom wanted Obama to win too." Then, my favorite comment, one little girl very adamantly informed the class, "My Mom wanted President Monson to win!" They all got in a big argument about who should win. Barack Obama, or President Monson. I love teaching preschool. They crack me up. Today we are learning about Arctic Animals. I wonder what they will come up with. . .

I love it! That story reminds me of last year when I was teaching, it was the day after President Hinckley had passed away and one of my students came in all upset and informed me that the President had died. It came out in the conversation that he thought President Hinckley was the President of the United States. haha. It can get confusing to those little ones. :)
