Digital Scrapbooking

So, I've kinda been looking into digital scrapbooking. I love to scrapbook, but I never do because by the time I get everything out, I get one or two pages at the most done and it's time to clean up the mess. If I had a spot to leave the mess OUT I would probably get a lot more finished. Anyway, I think being able to do it on the computer I would get more done, plus I found a website to print them pretty cheap, so that will save me money in the long run too. There seems to be a lot out there, but I am a little clueless as to where to start. Do all of you cutsie, blogging, tech savvy ladies out there have any suggestions?? Good websites, things I need to know, etc. Also, I've been trying to play with some of what I've found in Photoshop Elements, but it is SO STINKING SLOW!! Is that just my computer, or am I doing something wrong? I've only been playing with the whole idea since about 24 hours ago, and I am almost ready to give up. I need some direction. Thanks in advance for your help! :)
PS Spencer if you are reading this, don't worry, I only download stuff if it's free! Wink wink. Love ya. It was YOUR friend who got me started after all. You will be so grateful in 20 years when our family has such a great history. It's for posterity! (Thanks for your help Christel by the way! I got totally sidetracked and haven't even worked on getting 3 columns for my vinyl blog like I was wondering about in the first place, but I will get there one of these days. Anyway, it was nice of you to help me out!)

digifree.blogspot.com,
digiscrapdepot.com (click on freebies), shabbyprincess.com (click on "downloads" in the upper left corner, and it will give you about 20 free kits you can download)

I've got TONS of free stuff I've downloaded if you ever want to come make a copy.

Good luck!

I have all sorts of info... you have no idea how much I love digital scrapbooking, and I've taught classes (just for our ward) so I've gathered what I can about this. I'll have to email it to you. Look into how much hard drive space you've used up, that's the most important part in speed... I always upgrade that so things'll move smoothly on my computer. I think you'll end up loving it too. I still scrapbook my little brother's lives traditionally so I can still get that fix :) When I first was interested I went to www.freedigitalscrapbooking.com. It's not the best stuff, but it's good enough to get started. Good luck!

This website is really cool. You can download free filters to change the look of your picture. I think it would be awesome for you, especially because you make birth announcements and different things like that. You will love it!

Okay, so everyone has given you the info that I have on it. I've made quite a few pages, but what is the website you have to print them off? I've looked around for something affordable, but haven't been too please... let me know so I can print some off already!!

I have printed mine at Costco. I don't think it's that expensive.
