We are trying to get Mason potty trained at NIGHT. Quite a task. So he isn't allowed to drink water before bed at night. This is REALLY hard for him. He is one thirsty little fella. Last night we were trying to get him to bed and he was crying that he was so thirsty. I told him we would trick his tummy and he could have a pretend drink.
Me: OK Mason, here is your drink! (Handing him a pretend drink.)
Mason: No Mom! It's not real!
Me: SSHhhhhh!! Don't tell your tummy it's not real and it won't know!
This same conversation was repeated over and over and over as we were trying to get him to fall asleep without a drink. A few minutes later, he got off his bed and got a drink.
Me: Mason, did you just take a drink? (A little angry at this point.)
Mason: No Mom, it was a pretend drink!
I guess that one bit me back huh??

Can you really potty train a kid at night? I thought it just kind of happened??.... I love your little conversations! We'll have to get together over Christmas break!!
Good luck! My little boy is 3.5 and I don't know when we're going to cross that bridge.
Gotta love those sneaky 4 yr olds. Story of our lives every Sunday!
What a smart kid!
